"The time has come for colds & over coats..."

Winter has definitely arrived...  It's pretty dang cold outside & I have been fighting a cold for about 2 weeks now. (boooo!)  The poor air quality is not helping much...  Anyway, besides that the snowboarding season has officially begun!  Dave got a new board & pass to Snowbasin for his Christmas present this year.  Snowboarding is his passion!  He is very good at it as well.  I on the other hand am not so good at it, I try to be...  I just can't seem to get the guts to go fast!  Haha, I am a sissy.  I do however have a goal to get better so that I can keep up with Dave, or at least not take 2 hrs to get down the mountain!  I can say that I have conquered the "Wild Cat" run!!  My worst part is getting off the lift, those things are scary...  That's why riding the gondola is so much better!  You can just walk right off and then grab your board & strap it on, instead of trying to pull a balancing act.  Maybe this will be my year...

Thanksgiving Round 2

Let me say that it was a great one!  My dad made the best turkey I have ever had!  It was just mouth watering!  My deviled eggs turned out pretty good too.  Much better than last time... when I accidentally added 1 tsp of salt instead of 1/2 tsp, oops!  I definitely learned from that mistake.  My mom made some yummy candied yams!  I love those things!  I am very thankful that my parents are such good cooks!  All in all it was a wonderful day.  Can't wait until next year!

I decided to make Chicken Parmesan, angel hair pasta & green beans for dinner.  It was pretty delicious!

Thanksgiving Round 1

This year we are having two Thanksgivings.  We had one on Sunday with Dave's side of the family.  It was delicious!  We had the usual traditional menu...  turkey, ham, candied yams, etc.  I made pretzel salad, it turned out pretty good.  We will be having Thanksgiving dinner with my family on Thursday (Thanksgiving).  I am in charge of making deviled eggs (my dad loves them)...  and maybe something else, I'm still waiting to hear back from my mom...  I can't wait!

Halloween 2010

Well, this year for Halloween we did a repeat of last year's Halloween...  We stayed up at a cabin with friends, played games, ate good food /candy and enjoyed each others company.  It was a great time!

Homemade Brownies

Today I made homemade brownies!  The batter tasted delicious & they smell delicious... so I hope that the finished product turns out just as good if not better!  (Fingers crossed) :)

Autumn 2010

So far this year we have done a few home improvements...  The biggest one being new carpet!  Oh, how wonderful it is!  It also looks great!  It's probably odd to most people that someone could get so excited about new carpet...  But, I am all about interior design/decorating!  I just get super excited about it!  Another big thing we have done is paint all of our interior doors white (they were dark brown before).  It makes our hallway feel so much bigger & brighter!  In Spring we hope to get some sod & landscaping done to the backyard.  Needless to say, much improvement has been made to our place.  We are doing all of these improvements in hopes that we will be able to sell this place next year and buy a "real" house (we live in a town home type place).  We have just grown out of it & need a bigger place...  Especially since we plan on starting a family next year!  (I'm not getting any younger you know, haha!)

Summer 2010

This has been a very busy year so far!  We had our one year anniversary!  It was amazing, we went back to Mexico (same spot we went on our honeymoon).  You could say it was a second honeymoon...

We had an amazing view from our room!  (we upgraded to the ocean view junior suite).  I had an amazing time with my amazing husband!  I love you very very much Dave!<3

We went on another little trip just a couple weekends ago to St. George.  We brought along my brother-in-law (Dave's little brother) & his girlfriend.  We had a really fun time!  We basically just relaxed at the condo for the most part.  But, we did make it out to Snow Canyon for a hike...  It kicked my butt!  Haha!

Well, now the Summer has come to an end...  It was a good one.

Quarter of a Century...Dave's Birthday!

My wonderful husband turned 25 on Saturday (5/29). So, of course I had to tease him & tell him that he is now a quarter or a century old... (Hey, I got it when I turned 25!) It's only fare right?? Well, we celebrated it earlier in the week with his family. I made a yummy cake & his mom brought "Brownie's on the Moon" ice cream (Dave's Favorite). It was a good time. On Saturday (Dave's actual birthday) I took him shopping, to dinner @ Maddox (mmm) and then we went to the movies. This weekend we are going to be celebrating his birthday again! Only with my side of the family this time. We are having a combined Birthday BBQ for Dave & our niece Jaida. Jaida will be 5 on Saturday! She is growing up so fast!

Spring Fever... Catch it!

I am pumped for Spring! So, I decided to make my first ever wreath... It still needs a few little finishing touches, but this is what I got so far. I was also thinking about doing a craft a month. Or at least a wreath for each season maybe...

It's the weekend!

I just wanted to say that I am so happy that it is the weekend! It is going to be a very busy one... Easter is on Sunday and it is also the 2yr anniversary our first date. Cute! This picture is from out trip to Hawaii that Summer.

Blogging?

So, this is my first time ever Blogging... I am not sure what to write about. I guess I'll start with something about us. "Us" being Dave & myself. Oh yeah & we can't forget about Jersey. She is our mini schnauzer, well micro-mini really. Dave & I got married August 1, 2009. We live in Utah, born & raised. We met on St Patrick's Day 2008 (the day after my birthday), through mutual friends. We both work full time. Dave also goes to school & will be graduating from Weber State University this fall! (I cannot wait!) After that maybe we'll consider thinking about starting a family... We are in no rush. This summer for our Anniversary we will be going back to the same place we had our Honeymoon (Cancun, Mexico). We loved it there so much we would go back every year, if we could. Ok, well tonight we are going to the Jazz vs Celtics game so, I better go get ready!
